The Fundraising Team, Sands | 18 April 2018

In the build up to the Virgin Money London Marathon we're meeting a few of our wonderful #TeamSands runners. If you're interested in becoming a #TeamSands supporter, check out our list of exciting fundraising events.

Name: Mick Berry

From: Originally from Sheffield, now living in Worcester Park, South West London

Why you are running for Sands:

My son, Lucas, was stillborn in June 2014.  We received a lot of support from Sands and love the Sands butterfly garden where our angel is buried.  I am running the London Marathon to give something back to Sands for the support they gave to me and my wife.  Hoping to raise as much money and as much awareness as I can.

What has been your biggest challenge while training?

Fitting it all in, trying to eat better and getting out of bed even earlier before work.

What are you most looking forward to about being part of the London Marathon?

The atmosphere.

What is your expected fundraising target?

It was originally £2000, but I am over £6000 now!

What is your expected finishing time? 4h25m
