Join Sands first team Facebook challenge. Will you be team orange or will you be team blue? Sign up to Take on 2 million and let fate decide who’s team you’re on.
Once you know if you’re #TeamBlue or #TeamOrange you will take on reps of squats, push ups and burpees in the month of May and log your reps progress as you go in our Facebook messenger team totaliser.
You can set your own rep goal for the month or complete our recommended 100 reps a day in May . Every rep you do will help your team reach 2 million! Who do you think will get there first?

Do I get to decide what activity I do for the challenge?
Of course. You can pick to do just squats, press ups or burpees or a mixture of the three. When you complete your reps you can add them to your total via Facebook messenger.
Is there a fundraising target?
We have no minimum or maximum amount that we would like you to raise. From our point of view, no matter how much money you raise, it will go towards supporting bereaved families across the UK.
How do I raise money?
Facebook Fundraisers are the easiest way to raise money. You can set one up in a few seconds here. And then it's really easy to share the page with your Facebook friends.
What is a Facebook Fundraiser?
As well as fundraising offline, you can now hold a fundraiser on Facebook. It’s simple to set up and very easy for friends and family to donate to it without having to leave Facebook.
How do I edit the date of my Facebook Fundraiser?
Facebook Fundraising pages are automatically set to run for just 14 days. After that, they will close and you won’t be able to collect any more donations.
You need to manually change the date to 31st May 2022.
- Go to your fundraising page
- Click “Edit” under the main image and headline
- Scroll down to the box that says “Set the End Date”
- Select the date – 20th May 2021.
- Then click Save in the top right.
My fundraiser ended before I finished the challenge. Can you re-start it?
Unfortunately not. Facebook Fundraisers are automatically set to run for just 14 days by Facebook. Unless you edit the end date, your fundraiser will automatically end. Unfortunately, the only option if your fundraiser does end is to set up a new fundraising page. But don't worry - we'll still know that donations from both are from you.
Can I raise money on another online platform like Justgiving?
My donation isn't showing. Have you received it?
Sometimes your donation won't show on a fundraiser. There's a few reasons why this might happen:
- You've chosen (maybe accidentally) to donate anonymously - this means it won't appear on the fundraiser but the total will go up.
- Facebook can take up to 24 hours to update the total.
- Another reason! Sometimes Facebook does things we don't understand, but you can email us at email@example.com if it isn't showing after 24 hours, and let us know your name, the date you donated and the amount, we can confirm whether we've received it.

I accidentally set up two Facebook fundraisers. What should I do?
No problem! We suggest ending one and continuing to share the other. Don't worry, we'll still know that donations from both are from you.
To end your fundraiser:
- From your Facebook Fundraiser, click "... More" under the Donate button
- Select "End Fundraiser"
- Once your fundraiser has ended, click “… More” under the invite button, then “Delete Fundraiser”
If you've already received a donation on the fundraiser you want to end, then you won't be able to do the last step to delete it - but don't worry. Ending it is enough and we'll know that donations from both are to be included in your fundraising total for the challenge.
I find squats/push ups/burpees hard. What can I do?
This challenge is all about doing what works for you. If you need to lower the number you do each day or extend the time it takes to finish the challenge, that's okay. We'll still be here to support you every step of the way.
How do I get my free t-shirt?
We'll send you a t-shirt and fundraising pack after you put your address and t-shirt size in here.
Why is my t-shirt colour different to others?
When you registered for Take on 2 million you were randomly allocated to #TeamOrange or #TeamBlue. Wear your t-shirt with pride, connect with others in your team and show your allegiance in the group using the hashtag #TeamOrange or #TeamBlue.
My t-shirt doesn't fit / I ordered a different size. Can you change it?
Of course. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know what size you received, and what size you need. We'll then send a new t-shirt with an envelope to return the other.
When will I get my fundraising pack and t-shirt?
We will dispatch all fundraising packs and t-shirts weekly. You should expect to see you fundraising pack and t-shirt within 10 working days of registering.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, there may be some delay in the receipt of your pack. If you haven’t received you pack within 10 days, please contact us at email@example.com and we’ll follow up for you.
What is in my fundraising pack?
A Sands t-shirt and a tracker for you to mark off your squats, press ups and burpees.
How do I keep track of how many reps I've done?
Use your Facebook Messenger portal to log your reps. All your reps will be added to your personal total and will also be added to your team total. Every rep you do will get your team closer to 2 million! You can also use the tracker in your pack to record how many you do each day.
Do I have to do the challenge alone?
It’s up to you! If you would rather share the reps with a friend, then this is okay too. It’s all about doing something that’s challenging for you.
What if I don't complete the challenge?
The only thing that matters is that you challenge yourself. Do as much as you can. Every rep helps get you and your team closer to 2 million.
Can I start late or early?
As this challenge is about getting to 2 million in May, your reps will only count towards your's and your teams total between 1-31 May. We would suggest aiming for 100 reps a day in May which works out around 2000 per person in May.
Where will my friends' money go?
Directly to us at Sands. You don't have to worry about this. It happens automatically through Facebook.
Someone I know accidentally donated to my Facebook Fundraiser. Can you issue them a refund?
Unfortunately we can’t issue refunds - Facebook must do this. People can request a refund themselves from Facebook by following the below steps:

- Select — I donated to a fundraiser on Facebook
- Select — I want a refund for my donation(s)
- Select — I made a donation by accident. Find their donation in the dropdown and request the refund.
Do I have to prove I’ve completed the challenge?
You don’t need to prove you’ve completed the reps – we trust you! You can post videos, pictures and updates on your Facebook Fundraiser and in the group though, so we can see and congratulate you on your progress. Sharing updates is also a great way to show those who have sponsored you that you’re committed to completing the challenge.
How do I pay in my fundraising?
If you’ve collected offline fundraising, the easiest way to pay this to Sands if by donating on our website. You can do this here.
Make sure to say that your money is for your Take On 2 million challenge so that we can make sure it is added to your total.
If you’re not able to donate this way, then drop us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we can discuss other ways of getting the donation to us.
How do I send you my sponsorship form?
If you’ve collected cash donations and have a completed sponsorship form, do scan and email this to us at email@example.com so we claim any gift aid. If you’re not able to scan or send us a clear photograph, drop us an email anyway and we can let you know where to send your form via post.
Is it possible to donate via cheque?
Yes, this is possible. You can address the cheque to Sands and send to:
