Congratulations to Sands befriender and University of Worcester student Debbie Taylor on winning the prestigious British Journal of Midwifery’s Student Midwife of the Year award. Debbie is a third year student at the University of Worcestershire and has volunteered at Sands Gloucestershire since 2011.
Michelle Prudence, Chair of Sands Gloucestershire said:
"We are all extremely proud of Debbie and her fantastic achievement. She has worked tirelessly in the county as a befriender, and also supporting parents as a volunteer at our monthly support meetings, showing compassion, dedication and commitment to parents on the most horrendous and heart-breaking journey.
Debbie is a valuable member of the group, who all work extremely hard improving care and providing support in the county. Thank you Debbie for all the work you do and for raising awareness of both national and Gloucestershire Sands. "
