A survey of 317 people has been carried out to see how bereaved parents coped after a stillbirth. Nine in ten said they felt ‘isolated and alone’ while almost three-quarters said that relationships with family and friends had been negatively affected. The issue was highlighted in a Channel 5 News special entitled: Stillbirth – Still a Taboo.
Dr Clea Harmer, Chief Executive at Sands, was interviewed on the programme on the National Bereavement Care Pathway (NBCP). Clea said: "What we want to do with the National Bereavement Care Pathway is to join everything up, so that parents are at the absolute heart of the care that's being given."
