Stillbirth reduction has been made a number one priority for the 12 new NHS maternity strategic clinical networks (SCNs) set up across England to advise local commissioning groups.
Catherine Calderwood, National Clinical Director for Maternity and Children’s Services at NHS England, has been visiting SCNs across England to emphasise the unacceptability of current stillbirth rates.
We aim to work as closely as is possible with the SCNs to achieve this end, promoting, in particular, the work we are doing in public health awareness and developing robust standards for reviewing a baby’s death.
