On Sunday 12th May, I organised a fundraiser for Sands at my local village hall in Leicestershire: Charity Quiz Night In Memory Of Toby.

Tragically my son, Toby, was stillborn two days after his due date on 27th August 2015. Despite my heartache, I enjoy doing positive things in his memory, including raising awareness of and funds for the baby loss charities that have been so key in helping my husband and me move forward since Toby died.

I had three main aims for this event:

Keep Toby’s memory alive

Raise money for Sands

& raise awareness about baby loss and baby loss charities.

All three goals were achieved and everyone that came to the quiz had lots of fun too: The night was a huge success!

As part of the quiz evening, there was a raffle and a cake sale. In total, was raised £1533.71 for Sands. I’m so proud of all my friends and family (and their friends and families) for helping to raise this incredible amount in memory of Toby. ...And it’s not just about the money; so much awareness about baby loss and Sands has been raised through the event and it’s always lovely to be able to share Toby’s story because, no matter how devastating it is, it’s still his story and, like any other parent, I want to talk about my child.
