Welcome to Antonia Reed and Emma Jenkins, our newest Trustees who are joining Sands' Board.

Sands' Chair of Trustees David Hall spoke to us about appointing the new Board members and the different strengths and experiences they bring to this important voluntary role.

"I'm delighted to welcome Antonia and Emma to the Sands Board of Trustees. They each bring different and valuable talents and experience to their role, and all understand personally the lifelong impact that pregnancy and baby loss has for parents and families.

"I am confident that with the great Board that we now have in place, an amazing staff team and the whole Sands community working together we will continue to grow and be there for every family and every baby that needs us.

"Sands does much more than it’s ever done before – yet there is always so much more that’s needed.”

- David Hall, Chair of Sands' Board of Trustees

More about Emma Jenkins

Emma Jenkins has 20 years’ experience in the voluntary sector, including roles in partnerships, strategy and practice change, most recently as the Director of Change at the Youth Endowment Fund. She hopes to draw on this experience to help Sands continue to provide the care and support bereaved families need.

Emma’s beautiful twin boys, Jacob and Leon, died in 2019. Sands’ compassion and support helped her family through their loss, and she continues to draw strength from the North East London Sands community.

"Sands was there for us through the loss of our beautiful twin boys, offering advice, understanding and a community that still supports us. I'm honoured to join as a trustee to help ensure other bereaved families receive the same care, compassion and connection."
