Moy Park

In June 2023, top food company Moy Park Ltd nominated Sands for a two-year Charity of the Year partnership. Moy Park has a history of supporting charities that work with local communities to enhance people’s lives and wellbeing. To kick off the new partnership , Sands received a £1,000 donation as part of the company’s “This is Home” charity initiative.

Since the launch of our partnership, staff across multiple sites in the UK from Grantham to their HQ in Craigavon in Northern Ireland have helped to raise awareness and vital funds for Sands. Funds raised by Moy Park will make such a difference and help Sands to continue our work to save babies' lives and support bereaved families.

We’re extremely excited to see what Moy Park achieve for Sands over the two years, staff have already planned and undertaken fundraising initiatives which include football tournaments, hiking treks and raffles!

Centrica

Centrica champion volunteering within their workplace by offering every employee two days, or 15 hours, of paid time off to give back to local communities and causes colleagues care about. The volunteering scheme is  part of Centrica’s wider People and Planet Plan ambition to give 100,000 volunteer days to build inclusive communities by 2030.

In 2023, colleagues within Centrica started office knitting groups, using their volunteering hours to knit and crochet blankets for Sands' Memory Boxes. Since then, the groups have grown, and there are now nine knitting groups across the organisation: Cardiff, Edinburgh, Hull, Leeds, Leicester, London Park House, Stockport, Uddingston & Windsor. Cumulatively, these groups have knitted over 100 blankets, each crafted with dedicated time and care. Martin, who co-ordinates the group in Centrica's Windsor office, said:

“Knowing that each blanket is going to have a positive impact to others is lovely and the way my knitting helps me to connect with colleagues in a quiet and comfortable way outside of our work roles is a benefit for me and my wellbeing too. It’s part of my experience and every mention of Myah through my volunteering means she is never forgotten.”

Colleagues at Centrica have also taken part in Sands’ digital fundraising challenges, including Walk 100km in March, setting up Strava groups to track progress and sharing pictures to inspire and motivate one another.
