Do I need to play football to a certain standard to join a Sands United team?

No. Sands United provides peer to peer support in an informal setting, using sport as the vehicle for its delivery. Sands United teams do compete in some competitive matches but the focus is on inclusion of everyone no matter their sporting ability and promoting awareness.

I don't want to play but still want to be part of the team. Is that okay?

Sands United teams across the UK run because of the incredible commitment from volunteers, who do all sorts of activity behind the scenes to support the running of a team, from running social media accounts, organising matches, organising fundraising events, baking cakes, to washing kit and so much more.  If you’d like to support your local team we’d love to hear from you

I am not a bereaved dad. Can I still join Sands United?

Sands United is for any men who has experiences baby loss in their lives. We have uncles, brothers, grandads and health professionals involved in our teams.

What do I do if there is no Sands United team near me?

Despite having lots of teams across the UK as part of our network, we still have some areas where Sands United doesn’t exist. If you’d like to consider setting up your own team, complete our 'Expression of Interest' form and a member of the team will be in touch.

If you choose to start a new team, Sands will support you every step of the way, with all the resources, support and guidance that you need.
