We want to say a special thank you to Annika who has signed-up to become one of our amazing Sands Ribbon Run Champions this year. Thanks to people like Annika, we will be able to connect more people in her local area who have either experienced pregnancy or baby loss themselves or know someone that has and help raise awareness of and support Sands' work to save babies' lives and support bereaved families.
"Since my daughter was stillborn 15 years ago this October, I have been supporting Sands, my local hospitals, and campaigning to break the silence around baby loss. I spearheaded an appeal at our local hospital where my daughter was born, for a fully equipped bereavement suite.
Even now 15 years later I still turn to Sands when I need support, although the pain I feel with the loss of Gypsy is more bearable these days, knowing Sands are there working all the time to help is great.
It’s a good feeling to know that along the way with events like Baby Loss Awareness Week that we are helping others too.”
