For our Together, we are Sands campaign, we are celebrating the impact of the connections made within and beyond the Sands community.
Thank you to Hilary for sharing her connection to our community – a community unlike any other.
"I have met some wonderful people on my Sands journey over the last 14 years.
"Both those who supported me and those who I have supported whilst befriending.
"Connecting with people who have a deep and unique understanding of what each of us has been through helped give me the strength to carry on.
"As a long standing Bristol Sands committee member and Befriender I have made some fantastic, supportive friends who are and will continue to be very special to me.
"I hope I have also managed to connect with many people who may not have heard of Sands as I have run multiple races proudly wearing Sands' name, my son’s name and during London Marathon, 25 other babies names for all to see."
